Waymie Comer leads three-block tour of Shenandoah’s past

SHENANDOAH — Ever wonder what used to sit along Shenandoah’s First Street? Do you remember the row of businesses that sat across from the railroad tracks? Well take a walk down memory lane with Waymie Comer on Saturday, Sept. 21 during a Historic First Street Walking Tour.
Comer will lead guests along the First Street sidewalk for three blocks to tell stories of past businesses and events that occurred in Shenandoah’s “downtown.”
The Town of Shenandoah Museum and Welcome Center is hosting the event, among its series of cultural activities planned year-round. This is a FREE event.
Participants in the Historic First Street Walking Tour led by Waymie Comer are asked to arrive at the museum before 10 a.m. on Sept. 21. The tour will begin at 10 a.m. and travel about three blocks along the sidewalk. Attendees should wear comfortable shoes.
In the event of inclement weather, the walking tour will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.
The Town of Shenandoah Museum is located at 507 First Street.
