March 30, 1911 — Mr.W.C.Baker’s home, near Springfield was robbed on Tuesday night of all the silverware and knives and forks.
Mrs. Baker has been an invalid for several months, and her daughter, who was attending her, saw a stranger in the dining room, but was too badly frightened to make any alarm. She is very sure that the thief was a tramp, as his appearance indicated.
Town and country for several months have been overrun by this undesirable class, and we have heard of other bad conduct on their part at other places.
It is time that some strenuous measures were taken to rid the country of their presence.
