Age 25, Stanley, Va.

Hope Faye Painter, age 25, of Stanley, passed away on June 12, 2022, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Hope was born on October 3, 1996, in Harrisonburg, and was the daughter of Allen and Angela Painter.

Hope worked in the restaurant industry and was currently employed at the Stanley Hawksbill Diner. Hope genuinely loved the outdoors and had a passion for spending time with her son “Little Allen”.

Surviving in addition to her parents is her son, Allen S. Housden; older brother Joshua A Painter and companion, Chantell Wright of Shenandoah; a twin sister Destiny M. Shifflett and husband, Bobby Shifflett of Stanley; Grandmother Virginia “Faye” Taylor of Elkton; and Grandfather Glenwood “Bodie” Painter and companion, Diane Coffey of Luray. Nieces include Alyssa Painter, Everleigh Shifflett, Alayna O’Nell, and Scarlett and Nevaeh Painter. Nephews include Jayce and Camden Painter, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition, she is preceded in death by her Grandfather Alvin Eppard, Grandmother Alda Painter, Great- Grandmothers Mary Ann May, Edna Eppard, Francis Painter, and Flossy Painter, and a nephew Easton M. Shifflett.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Shenandoah Assembly of God in Shenandoah with Pastor Carter Dean officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the Shenandoah Assembly of God in Shenandoah.

Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

  1. I knew Hope and she was a sweet sweet girl and I know she loved her son so much. No words are enough in a time like this. I’ll keep you in my prayers. God watch over you in your time of sorrow. She will be sadly missed.
