Shenandoah river

January 11, 1990 — Huge blocks of ice have built up along the South Fork of the Shenandoah River west of Luray downstream from the White House Bridge.

The ice, formed during subzero temperatures in December when the thermometer remained below freezing for 13 days in a row, began breaking up and floating down the river during the warming trend of recent weeks.
