November 11, 1965 — The Page County Board of Supervisors, in regular monthly session Monday of this week, voted unanimously to include $50,000 in the General County Budget for the next fiscal year to be earmarked for a new jail or remodeling the present one to meet state requirements.
It appeared to the board that the construction of a new jail and/or remodeling the existing one will be required in the not too distant future.
A report on conditions at the jail was presented to the supervisors. The report was sent to the official county body following an inspection of the jail premises on Sept. 28.
Among other things, the report stated that the jail building had been described as inadequate. It is recommended in these reports that the county proceed with plans to construct a new building.
