James Anthony “Jimbo” Morris, 51 of Shenandoah, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Morris was born July 25, 1974, in Harrisonburg, Viriginia and was the son of Lois Ann (Hensley) Morris, and the late Nelson Franklin “Jimbo” Morris. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Mildred Hensley.
James was a 1992 graduate of Spotswood High School, and served our country in the United States Army. He served the Elkton community as a K-9 Officer and Police Chief for a number of years. He had previously worked for the Page County Sheriff’s Department, the Town of Orange Police Department, the Craigsville Correctional Facility, as well as served as a Probation Officer in both Rockingham and Page Counties. He was currently a Kennel Master, working overseas for GardaWorld. He loved to workout and was a handyman at home.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer Eileen (Shifflett) Morris, whom he married October 25, 2008; daughters, Sarah Wright and fiancé, Jordan Newkirk, Kelsey Dean and husband, Robert Pendleton, and McKenna Dean and boyfriend, Jeffrey Miller; a sister, Sherry Brown and husband, Timothy; grandchildren, Isla Newkirk, Palmer Pendleton, Rowen Pendleton, and one on the way, Ivory Miller, and a niece and nephew, Alicia Bowman and husband, Josh, and Timothy Brown and wife, Alexa.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
