Through those three games, Luray remains perfect at 3-0 in the Bull Run District. Their only losses of the season came to non-district opponents — Class 3 East Rockingham, 61-57, in the opener on the road Dec. 3; and on the road in Augusta County at Stuarts Draft, 58-47, on Dec. 19. Luray could meet up with the Cougars again in the Region 2B tournament.
Currently, the Bulldogs are averaging about 62 points per game, while allowing their opponents an average of 49 points. Luray hit a season-high when they topped the century mark on Dec. 21 against Lancaster in a 103-52 non-district win.
While Jenkins was seemingly robbed of post-season accolades last season during the Bulldogs run to the VHSL Class 2 state quarterfinals, the senior is certainly in line for his share of the spotlight this season. He stands as part of a scoring trio that will likely lead Luray back to the state tournament in late February.
