Judy leads Luray to Bull Run title

HARRISONBURG, Sept. 23 — Sophomore Will Judy lead the Luray Bulldogs to a Bull Run District golf championship on Monday at Heritage Oaks in Harrisonburg. Judy also claimed district runner-up honors as an individual, finishing just two strokes behind the district champion.

The Luray sophomore shot an 80, while district champion Ella Mochoruk carded a tournament-low 78. Page County’s Logan Foster shot an 81 to take third place, while Luray’s Blake Turner tied for fifth with an 83. Both earned All-District honors. 

Among 48 competitors in the field, Luray was able to card three of its six scoring golfers among the top 13. The team score of 340 was four strokes below second-place Stonewall Jackson.

Luray returns to the links at Heritage Oaks next Monday, Sept. 30 for the Region 2B Golf Tournament.
