May 7, 1911 — J.A. Sours, aged about 19, son of Mr. Wm. H. Sours, of Mill Creek, this county, jumped from a northbound freight train at Stanley last Saturday night, and received a serious fracture of the skull.
Dr. Hudson, the railroad surgeon, was called, and found his condition so serious as to require hospital treatment. He was accordingly sent to the hospital at Charles Town, and up to Sunday night had not regained consciousness.
The young man, in company with a number of other young men, had been to Shenandoah City, and were returning on a through freight train. Young Sours was warned not to jump from the car, but recklessly disregarded the advice.
