June 1, 1961 — The Luray baseball club defeated Stanley Sunday on the latter’s diamond, 6-4, behind the pitching of Gerald Judd, who allowed but five hits and fanned 11 as Luray won its third game without a loss in the Massanutten League this season.
Howard Painter and Allen Greene pitched for Stanley, the two giving up a total of 12 hits.
Painter, the losing pitcher, had a 3-1 lead until Luray staged a four-run rally in the top of the seventh inning to win the game.
