Luray wins

July 5, 1962 — The power hitting Luray club of the Massanutten League pounded out 15 hits Sunday afternoon at Stanley, including two home runs by Pete Vaughan and one by Glen Rickard, to mark up an 8-6 decision over the home team.

The three home runs gave Luray 13 in 11 games.

Don Moyer hurled the distance for Luray. He allowed but five hits, waled six, fanned three and allowed six earned runs.

Bob Owens started for Stanley and pitched until the seventh inning when he was replaced by Warren Purdham who finished.
