Age 90, Stanley, Va.
Maxine Naomi Lucas, 90, of Stanley, Va. passed away Sunday morning, May 3, 2020 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg from respiratory complications.
She was born August 8, 1929, in Timberville, Virginia, and was a daughter of the late Odus and Essie Wilson Good.
Maxine was a retired factory worker for the former Luray Textile.
On September 21, 1945, she married Allen F. Lucas Sr., who passed away on July 8, 1993.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Sue Roberts and Cindy Dawn Katz; one sister, Frances Stroupe; six grandchildren, Lucas David Shaffer, Tammy Danchanko, Deanna Killian, Lisa Procacina, April McCoy and Adam Good; and seven great-grandchildren, Noah Procacina, Lindsey Campbell, A.J. McCoy, Anna McCoy, Gabriel Danchanko, Lukas Good and Brennan Good.
In addition to her husband and parents, Maxine was predeceased by a son, Allen F. Lucas Jr; a great-grandson, Luke Shahateet; and four siblings, Jessie Good, JoAnne Rathe, Anna Mae Bailey and Roy Carroll Good.
Maxine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Maxine’s great friends from Luray Textile for concern and support. Thank you also to the wonderful staff at Sentara RMH for the care they gave to Maxine.
Private graveside rites will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
