This is sweet Sawyer!
Sawyer is an approximately 1- to 2-year-old male. He has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccinations. Sawyer found himself at the shelter after he was released from a hoarding situation of up to 70 cats.
Sweet Sawyer is one of the sweetest guys in the group! He’s always happy to have you visit with him and likes to tell you what he’s thinking. Sawyer is a fairly relaxed cat and is happy to just lounge around in his cozy spots. When he’s not busy trying to talk to you, he can be found lounging around.
But this cool cat also has a playful side. He immediately brightens up when you break out the laser or anytime he sees a shiny reflection run past on the floor.
Sawyer is a special needs cat. Unfortunately, Sawyer has been diagnosed as diabetic. Yes, cats can get diabetes just like people do. Thankfully, diabetes is a well-studied and fairly manageable condition. We’re still in the process of finding Sawyer’s perfect dosage, but he gets two small injections a day. One in the morning and one in the evening. Sawyer doesn’t mind his injections and does well while they’re administered. Now that he is on insulin, you can tell he is feeling much better.
If you’d like to get to know Sawyer or if you have any questions,
please send the shelter an email inquiry or call the Page County Animal Shelter at (540) 778-2101. Please keep an eye out for our email reply. Sometimes they find their way to the spam/junk folder.
