March 1, 1962 — Miss Beverley McCoy, beautiful brunette and first runner-up in the 1961 Miss Ruritan contest, was chosen as Miss Ruritan for 1962 last Saturday evening at Page County High School.
Miss McCoy, wearing a lovely white strapless nylon net sheering skirt with white roses and green leaves cascading downward, carried a white carnation with green fern nosegay.
She was vying with 41 other lovely candidates from all over Page County.
Beverley is the daughter of Mrs. Elwood Housden of Stanley, and was sponsored by the K.L. Foster Store of Shenandoah. She is a junior at Page County High School.
Nearly 500 captivated spectators watched the pageant.
