Age 60, Luray, Va.

Lyndon Lee Gray, 60, of Luray, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, comforted by his wife, Donna, after a tremendously courageous fight with cancer.

He came into the world on the morning of November 25, 1963, at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray and was a son of Maxine Good Gray of Stanley and the late Cletus Calvin Gray Sr.

Surviving in addition to his mother and his wife are a brother, Cletus Calvin Gray Jr. of Stanley; a sister, April Gray of Stanley; and an immense number of beloved nieces and nephews.

Lyndon was a jack of all trades and a master of all. Throughout his life he had many adventures, working at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., spending 14 years on the Shenandoah National Park’s trails crew, and he was also a very skilled carpenter spending 10-plus years in that field during his 20s.

He was especially proud of the beautiful deck he built at his home in Luray. If you happened to stop by on a cool summer evening, you’d find him sitting on the deck whaling on one of his guitars. For those who knew him well, he was an avid enthusiast of music and especially rock and roll. Motley Crue, Guns N’ Roses, and pretty much anything you could bang your head to, you could find in rotation at the house on any given day.

On a story book evening in 1987, he took a lovely young lady by the name of Donna Printz to prom. They would go on to spend the next 37 years together side by side and finally tying the knot on February 12, 2010. They enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, going to concerts, quiet trips to the beach, NASCAR races, and enjoying every waking moment that they could…together!

The family is asking for privacy at this time and requests that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the SPCA of Page County or your local rescue squad.

Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
