LURAY, Sept. 12 — Heading into Friday night’s game against Regents, the Mt. Carmel Christian Academy varsity volleyball team was off to a solid 3-1 start to the 2025 season.
After dropping their season opener to United, the Warriors have bounced back in dominant fashion, winning their last three matches in straight sets.
Head Coach Erin Clark praised her team’s performance, noting the players’ teamwork.
“They are all playing well together,” said Clarke.
This year’s squad is led by senior Madison Lucas, who has been a standout on the court. Over the last three matches, Lucas has recorded 17 kills, leading the team in that category.
Sophomore Abby Caton has been dominant from the service line, racking up 19 aces, while another sophomore Darbi Hunsberger has led the defensive effort with 12 digs.
Last Monday night’s win was especially meaningful as the school celebrated Alumni Night during the varsity game.
