New police chief

April 9, 1987Luray’s town council, in a special executive session Tuesday night, voted unanimously to hire a new chief of police.

Robert M. Holloway, 48, will assume his duties on the town’s police force commencing May 1.

Holloway is currently chief of police for the Division of Consolidated Laboratories and the Bureau of Forensic Science in Richmond.

Holloway was one of four finalists.

Former police chief Albert Judd was the only local candidate among the final applicants considered by the council.
