New principals named at Luray and Shenandoah elementary schools

LURAYPage County Public Schools recently announced two new principals for the 2021-22 school year at two elementary schools in the county.

Elizabeth Dodson will become principal of Luray Elementary School. She has been with the local school system for eight years and taught Kindergarten, 6th grade Science, Middle School Math and Algebra I, before becoming Dean of Students and then Assistant Principal of Luray High School.

“She is excited to come back to LES where she began her teaching career and serve the students and community of Page County,” the PCPS notice states.

Dodson’s new role is effective July 1, 2021. 

Monica Hinegardner will be the principal of Shenandoah Elementary School. She has served as an Assistant Principal in Shenandoah County for the past three years. Hinegardner began her teaching career in Page County and “is excited to come back home and be a part of the PCPS team,” the PCPS notice states.

“As a member of the Page County community, I have a personal investment into the progression and betterment of its youth and the education that is provided,” Hinegardner said in the notice.

Hinegardner’s new role is effective July 1, 2021.
