September 21, 1961 — The Stanley Food Market will open Friday, Sept. 29, in the former Robinson building on Stanley’s Main Street.
It will be owned and operated by John M. Dunlap, co-owner and manager of the Stanley Cash Store, which will be closed when the new store opens.
The old Robinson store building has been vacant since it was gutted by fire in December 1955.
During the past several months there have been extensive repairs and remodeling to fit the needs of its new tenants.
A parking lot is being prepared on its east side and the second floor has been converted into several nice apartments.
