Norfolk and Western erects ‘electric gong’

January 13, 1911 — The Norfolk and Western Railway Company has a force of men engaged in the erection of a large electric gong at the Cave Street crossing of its tracks near the passenger station in this place. The gong begins striking whenever a train approaches to within 2,000 feet of the crossing.
