June 10, 1965 — Russell Helms has handed us a remnant of an old newspaper found in the log house recently owned by the late Dr. J. Vincent Spitler in Jordon Hollow.
The paper is dated Dec. 20, 1834, three years after Page County was split off from Shenandoah.
Masthead of the paper is obscure but appears like “Sentinel of the Valley.”
We would appreciate any information on this old paper, probably published in Woodstock.
