Overdose Prevention Days coming to Luray and Woodstock

Events presented by SaVida Health and Strength In Peers

NEW MARKET — Strength In Peers, the Shenandoah Valley’s largest peer-run recovery organization, and SaVida Health, a leader in outpatient opioid addiction treatment, are teaming up to host Overdose Prevention Days in Luray and Woodstock this September. These events offer practical tools, vital information, and a safe space to connect and take action.

The free events are open to everyone — whether you use drugs, care for someone who does, or simply want to learn how to save a life.

Attendees will learn how to recognize and respond to an overdose, receive free Naloxone kits (the life-saving overdose reversal medication) and drug testing stirps, access free HIV and Hepatitis C testing, and connect with local recovery resources and support.

Food and refreshments will be provided, and guests can explore SaVida Health’s outpatient services. Guests will also learn about Strength In Peers’ new Community Resource Center in New Market. This welcoming space offers harm reduction services, as well as case management, referrals, and help with applications for housing, healthcare, employment, and recovery programs.
