Hurricane Helene relief collection sites at Page Co-Op, Southern States

LURAY, Oct. 8 — The Page County Farmers Association is organizing efforts at two hurricane relief collection sites in Luray through Wednesday, Oct. 9. Items collected will specifically benefit farmers in Asheville, North Carolina.

“Jim Gochenour, President [of PCFA], has been in touch with the appropriate contacts and has found a distribution point where the farmers are in dire need of these supplies,” states a letter from the Page County Farmers Association to its members and “friends of the farming community.”

The following items are being collected at Page Co-Op and Southern States in Luray:

• Feed for Cattle, Sheep and Goats

• Feeding and Farming Supplies, such as pitch forks, feed scoops, shovels, buckets, rakes, etc.

• Water and feed troughs

• Temporary fencing supplies – T-posts, T-post drivers, etc.

• Electric fencing supplies – insulators, tighteners, staples, rolls of tensil wire.

These livestock and farming supplies will be collected through WEDNESDAY. For those wishing to make a monetary donation, please make checks payable to PCFA and items will be purchased with these funds.

“Your contributions to help our farmers rebuild from the devastation of Hurricane Helene, will be greatly appreciated,” the PCFA letter states.
