LURAY, Aug. 21 ― Page County High School has named Ryne Powell as its new Athletic Director. Powell has experience coaching basketball, soccer, and track; and extensive leadership experience, having served as an Assistant Principal intern in Rockingham County and an Assistant Athletic Director for several years.
Powell holds a Master’s Degree in Administration and Educational leadership from Radford University and a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science from Bridgewater College. He has 14 years of teaching experience at both the middle and high school levels.
Most recently, Powell has been teaching Economics and Personal Finance at Spotswood High School and serving as the Assistant Athletic Director.
Additionally, he volunteers in the James Madison University athletic department doing instant replay for baseball, running the game scoreboard for basketball, and is the Coach to Player switch Operator for JMU football home games.
Powell resides in Harrisonburg with his wife, and two children.
