LURAY, Feb. 16 — In a similar arrangement that it made with Rip It Events last year with regards to the Luray Triathlon, Racine MultiSports is transferring coordination and operations for Swim Fest Luray over to John Kenny of French Creek Racing.

“We are excited about this partnership with French Creek Racing. As a premier open water and multi-sport race management company, French Creek Racing will help provide expertise and longevity for the Swim Fest races,” Ken Racine, owner and operator of Racine MultiSports and Racine Timing, stated in a Feb. 9 press release.

“This is extremely important to me, as the founder of these events, as it’s my goal to see these races thrive and provide many more years of joy and competition to the swimming community,” Racine continued. “We are excited to pass these events on to French Creek Racing, as we believe they’ll continue to thrive under French Creek Racing’s management.”

Last week’s announcement also includes Swim Fest Fort Ritchie. Based in Bridgeport, Pa., French Creek Racing continues to expand its open water swimming options, now with events in four states — Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. Racine will continue to provide timing services at the French Creek Triathlon in Elverson, Pa. and consulting services for these two Swim Fest events.

“Racine MultiSports has helped us immensely since our inception in 2011. Ken is a great mentor who has worked with us for over a decade in both professional timing and race management consulting,” said John Kenny, owner and race director for French Creek Racing. “We’re excited to continue the legacy of these two great Swim Fest events in Fort Ritchie and Luray.  We welcome Racine MultiSports and past participants to the French Creek Racing family.”

Kenny has been on staff at the Luray Triathlon for the past five years. Both he and Racine will be visiting Luray in the “near future” to meet with stakeholders involved and get permits in place for the next Swim Fest Luray scheduled for June 1 at Lake Arrowhead.

French Creek Racing, LLC was founded in 2011 and has successful event planning expertise in both open water swim and multi-sport events. They produce many great events, including: The French Creek TriFest, Open Water Series, Frozen Hare Series, Delaware State Open Water Championships, River Day SwimFest, The Charles Bender Memorial Swim, Fall SwimFest at French Creek, and a US Maters Swim Meet.

Additionally, French Creek Racing runs the largest year-round adult swim training group in the region with various pool locations and two open-water training locations in Norristown, Pa. and Newark, Del. This includes swim training, clinics, private lessons, triathlon coaching, triathlon camps, and more.

Racine MultiSports, LLC was founded in 2007 with a vision to provide quality events to the multisport and running communities. In 2009, Racine MultiSports added a timing operation to cover their own timing needs and to provide timing to other events. Since then, Racine MultiSports has successfully grown both their event production and timing operation. Owners, Ken and Lisa Racine established the Hagerstown Sprint and Youth Triathlons, Hagerstown Duathlon Series, Fort Ritchie Triathlon, Swim Fest Fort Ritchie, Swim Fest Luray, Antietam Brewery 5K/Beer Mile/Taco Mile, and Luray Half Marathon and 5K.
