Susan Ann Good

Age 74, Luray and Mount Jackson, Va.

Susan Ann Good, 74, of Luray and Mount Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in Harrisonburg.

She was born on November 12, 1949, in the Leaksville area of Luray and was a daughter of the late Arthur Glendon Good and Bertha May Bell Stoneberger Good. Susan had eight siblings and a lifelong friend, Elizabeth Johnson Cook of Luray and Mount Jackson.

Susan was a resident of McPherson’s Adult Care Home in Shenandoah for many years. She had lived in Mount Jackson for the last 15 years as a resident of “Where the Heart is” Adult Care Group Home.

Susan was lovingly known by her family and friends as “Sissie” and “Suzy-Q.” She was a bright spot at many family functions and would make crafty little gifts for her family and friends. She gave so freely and it made her so happy. She developed a close and special friendship with Wendy and Roger Rothgeb and Teddy Hensh. They made such a difference in her life.

She is survived by two children, Timothy Brian Good of Stanley, and Wanda Sue Good Singleton of Harrisonburg; two brothers, Ronald Wade Good of Luray, and Donald Ray Good Sr. of Shenandoah; four sisters, Bonnie Lou Mace, Shirley “Sandy” Breeden Wallace and husband Tony, Debra Kay Turner Case and husband John, and Annabelle Darlene Painter and husband Garfield, all of Luray; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She also leaves behind three brothers-in-law, Tony Turner, William Grant Good Sr. and Arthur Alvin Jewell Sr.; one sister-in-law, Amy Virginia Jewell Good; 26 nieces and nephews; 49 great nieces and nephews, and seven great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom gave her great pleasure.

In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by a brother, Glendon “Gerald” Good; a sister, Alice Faye Good Jewell; four brothers-in-law, Sherman Lee Comer, Harold Mace, Gregory Aleshire and Wayne Breeden; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Crawford Good and Glenda Lenora Good; and a great niece, Destiny Renee Good.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 19, at The Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Josh Parlett, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Leake’s Chapel Cemetery in Stanley.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Bradley Funeral Home to help the family with expenses.
