Railroad historian to speak on ‘Shenandoah Valley Line’ Aug. 3 at town museum

SHENANDOAH — A railroad historian and photographer will speak on the Norfolk and Western Railway’s Hagerstown District at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 at the Town of Shenandoah Museum and Welcome Center on First Street in Shenandoah.

Mason Cooper is a member of the Norfolk and Western Historical Society and a member of the Winchester Chapter, National Railway Historical Society. He will speak about the sites Shenandoah crews worked from Hagerstown, Md. to Shenandoah, Va.

Cooper authored the book “Norfolk and Western’s Shenandoah Valley Line” and is yet another historical speaker being hosted by the Shenandoah Museum, located at 507 First Street.
