Richard Aldine Lam, 81, of Stanley, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1938, in Luray and was a son of the late Raymond Dewey Lam and Dinah Virginia Lam.
Richard was a self-employed carpenter and truck driver.
On July 12, 1958, he married Vontella Mae Jenkins Lam, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Richard C. Lam and wife Sharon, Debora K. Frazier and husband James, and Ronald A. Lam and fiancée Amy; five siblings, Alleta Foster, Juanita Lawrence, Bruce Lam and wife Diane, Sharon Foster and Wade Lam; one granddaughter, Dana R. Doyon and husband John; a grandson, Richard A. “Aaron” Lam; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua S. Leggett.
There will be no formal services. At Richard’s request, his body was donated to science.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stanley Volunteer Rescue Squad, 933 W. Main St., Stanley, Va. 22851.
