Age 84, Luray, Va.
Roy Dale Campbell, 84, of Luray, Va., passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born on January 1, 1940, and was the son of the late Irvy Lee and Martha Ann Higgs Campbell. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie Campbell and Wayne Campbell.
Roy was a member of the Stanley SDA Church.
On Nov. 22, 1958, he married Margie Ann Nauman Campbell, who passed away on May 31, 2011.
He is survived by three children, Roy Dale “Tink” Campbell Jr. (Robbie) of Luray, Cheryl Ann Hereford (David Tempesco) of Virginia Beach, and Lori Ann Davis (John Jr.) of Luray; four grandchildren, Jason Campbell (Melissa), Tiffany Shifflett (Chad), Ashley Cubbage (Johnathan “John”), and William Paul Campbell Jr.; and 12 great-grandchildren, Destiny Campbell (Garrett Morton), Brett Paul Campbell, Ace Campbell, Callie Mae Shifflett, Jakob Shifflett, Easton Shifflett, Johnathan Cubbage Jr., Mason Cubbage, Maddox Cubbage, Waylon Campbell, Bellamy Campbell, and Sawyer Campbell.
The family will hold a private graveside service.
Per his request, Roy’s body was donated to medical science in hopes of helping others.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
