December 1, 1887 — Safe-blowers seem to be quite active in the lower valley for the last month.
They reached Front Royal last Thursday and blew open Messers. Rust and Shotwell’s safe, securing however only about $10.
Two young men, strangers who arrived the day before and left early the morning after the robbery, were suspected and arrested at Rileyville, this county, but no evidence being produced against them they were released.
