May 14, 1987 — The Page County School Board voted unanimously Monday night to exercise an option to purchase land adjacent to Grove Hill Elementary School to allow for new construction there.
The board’s option calls for a price of $2,400 per acre for about five acres of land owned by Richard and Kathy May next to the Grove Hill school.
The board also approved a formal request to Page County Supervisors for funds to complete the purchase.
The action clears the way for one part of the fourth phase of a county school construction program to expand and renovate Grove Hill and Springfield elementary schools.
