WATERVILLE, MAINE, Aug. 12 — While the Shenandoah 12U Major/60 All-Stars ended their seven-day run at the 2022 Cal Ripken World Series on Friday afternoon with a record of 2-5, they came within one game of playing for the Iron Man Bracket championship.

The 12U Major/60 All-Stars made history last month when they won the state championship in dramatic fashion and became the first team from the Shenandoah Recreation League to ever make it to the Cal Ripken World Series. In addition, another piece of history was added when they participated in the first Cal Ripken World Series to ever be held in Maine over the past week.
During the World Series, the Shenandoah All-Stars competed with teams from Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, Idaho and California.
