LYNCHBURG, March 2 — Luray High School’s indoor track team saw six Bulldogs earn All-State honors at the VHSL Class 2 State Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 1-2 at the Liberty University Track Complex. In addition, three new school records were set at the state meet on Wednesday and Thursday.
Sophomore Davey Johnson captured second place and All-State status after finishing as the state runner-up in the boys 1000 meters and posting a new LHS record time of 2:37.5.
Sophomore Annah Whitmer earned All-State by placing seventh in the 500 meters. The boys 4×4 team of junior Austin Lam, junior Hunter Kibler, senior Michael Hite and sophomore James Farrow also qualified for All-state honors after setting a new LHS record time of 3:43.34.
Kibler also set another new school record with a time of :38.5 in the 300 meters.
Other Bulldogs who ran their best times of the season Include:
- Freshman Lucy Currle, sophomore Alexa Davis, sophomore Joclyn Alger and Whitmer in the girls 4×2 relay team;
- Freshman Brianna Plum, 3200 meters;
- Freshman Carolina Wood, 3200 meters;
- Sophomore Alayna Roy, Whitmer, Plum and Wood, girls 4×8 relay.
