LURAY, July 23 ― With more than 20 years of leadership and instructional experience in public education for Harrisonburg City Public Schools, Rockingham County Public Schools, and Northport-East Northport Union Free School District, Lee Purnhagen has been selected as the new Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year at Stanley Elementary.
Purnhagen has served as a Dean of Students, Reading Specialist, and a Language Arts Teacher during her time in public education. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees from James Madison University in the areas of Early Childhood Education and Art History & Studio Art. She holds two Master’s of Science degrees in the areas of Literacy and Special Education from Dowling College. She earned her Administration and Supervision & English as a Second Language (ESL) certifications from James Madison University, as well as a degree in Restorative Justice in Education (RJE) from Eastern Mennonite University.
Purnhagen is excited to join Page County Public Schools and Stanley Elementary School and will begin her tenure as soon as possible. She brings with her a variety of experiences that will continue to allow Stanley to move and provide the very best experiences for the students and staff of Stanley Elementary School.
