STANLEY, July 5 — The following businesses and organizations received awards following the annual Stanley Homecoming parade held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, as the keynote event at the four-day festival.

Fire Department

• 1st — Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Department
• 2nd — Luray Volunteer Fire Department

Rescue Squad — Luray Rescue Squad

Horses

• 1st — Lexi Shifflett
• 2nd — Brittany Shifflett
• 3rd — Lisa Cubbage

Antique Entry

Best Independence Theme — D.R.’s Quick Stop

Best Decorated Car/Truck — Barbs Suds in a Bucket

Overall Outstanding Entry — Fellowship Baptist Church / Honorable Mention — Stanley New Hope

Most Outstanding Entry — Miss Page Valley Fair

Special recognition to the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department and the Stanley Rescue Squad, who are not eligible to win awards in the parade, but their appearance was very good. And special thanks to the Honor Guard, DC Police Pipes and Drums, Miss Virginia and Miss National Teen for their participation.
