Thomas Randolph “Buddy” Young Jr., 58, of Stanley, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born on January 19, 1967, in Luray and was a son of Edna Mae Phillips Young and the late Thomas Randolph Young Sr.
On June 20, 1986, he married Roxyanne Burton Young, who survives.
In addition to his mother and his wife, Buddy is survived by a son, Wesley Adam Young and wife Ashley of Stanley; two grandchildren, Aubree and Reed Young of Stanley; and two sisters, Sonya Randall of Stanley, and Sarah Wallace of New Market.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marion and Neva Young, and Troy and Essie Phillips.
Buddy was a graduate of Page County High School, Class of 1985. He worked in construction for more than 30 years and was an avid farmer. He enjoyed farming, working many hours over the years with his father and his son. Buddy always looked forward to the fall hunting season.
Most of all, Buddy’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, spending as much time as he could with them. He was a very family-oriented person and a loving man. Buddy had many nieces and nephews who he thought of as his own.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. on Saturday, January 10, at the Stanley Seventh-day Adventist Church, 318 Church Ave., Stanley.
A funeral service will be conducted at the church at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, by the Rev. Charles Clinedinst, Pastor Robert Banks and Pastor Oliver Bowles. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
