Thurman Darrell Parsell, 82, of Stanley, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Page Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 21, 1941, in Pulaski, Virginia, and was a son of the late Tobias Daniel Parsell and Mary Salatha Brown Parsell
Thurman worked as a brick mason and auto body mechanic, owning and operating Quality Auto Body and Thurman’s Masonry. His passions were his family and music. He was an avid guitar and harmonica player and enjoyed both playing and listening to bluegrass and country music.
He is survived by daughter Linda Parsell of Boston, VA; son David Parsell of Stanley; sisters Ruth Berry of Winchester, and Wanda Fountain of Fredericksburg; brother Wrefred Parsell of Frederick, MD; grandchildren Kevin Flynn, Brandi Goode and Chad Parsell; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Larry Parsell Sr., Anthony Parsell and Eugene Brown; sister Janet Raymond; and grandson Matthew Flynn.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Harvest Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Terry Cave, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m.
