LURAY — This Saturday night, Tom Wopat, who played the popular character “Luke Duke” on the hit 1980s CBS television series the “Dukes of Hazzard,” will appear in concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 at Cooter’s in the Valley on Route 211 just west of Luray.
Wopat has starred in multiple films and recorded several albums of music since appearing in one of the lead roles of the popular television show now memorialized at the Hazzard Museum at Cooter’s. The roadside attraction includes vehicles from the show — including the “General Lee”, a Hazzard County Sheriff’s cruiser, and Boss Hogg’s Caddy (with the horns) — as well as a replicated set of Cooter’s Garage, photos and other memorabilia from the show.
Wopat will be appearing at Cooter’s in the Valley to meet fans and sign autographs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17. Photos are on sale in the gift shop, with autograph rates being set by the cast member. Tickets for Saturday night’s concert are $20, with kids under 12 and seniors over 65 being admitted free.
Also appearing this weekend will be Jeff Altman, who played the character “Hughie Hogg” — “Boss Hogg’s” nephew — on the show. Altman will meet fans and sign autographs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17. Photos are on sale in the gift shop, with autograph rates being set by the cast member.
