January 2, 1964 — The Fred C. Walker Insurance Agency announced this week the purchase of the D.F. Aleshire Insurance Agency effective Jan. 1.
The Walker Agency will move its offices to the Aleshire quarters in the Page Theatre Building as soon as feasible, it was said. The Walker Agency will take over all of the Aleshire accounts and will handle casualty, fire and life insurance as well as bonds.
D.F. Aleshire established his insurance firm in Luray in 1923 and has enjoyed an eminently successful business in this area.
The Walker firm was established in 1953 when Fred C. Walker, who is now Luray’s mayor, purchased the Carroll E. Beach agency, established in 1939.
