November 16, 1961 — The Stanley Adventist group boiled some 80 gallons of apple butter last week, marking the close of the apple butter boiling season for this year.
A total of 650 gallons of this delicious spread has been made by these folks since Oct. 12.
Friday’s boiling required 30 bushels of apples and 270 pounds of sugar, not to mention plenty of willing hands to do the work involved.
The apple butter will be sold at 60 cents per quart, $1 for half-gallon or $2 gallon and the money donated to various charities of the school.
