Age 92, Stanley, Va.
Archie William Courtney, 92, of Stanley, died on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1928, in Luray and was a son of the late William Ray Courtney and Beulah Clara Jenkins Courtney.
Mr. Courtney had worked at Wrangler.
On May 8, 1968, he married Beverly Thomas Courtney, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, James Courtney of Stanley; two daughters, Anna Housden and Debbie Knott, both of Shenandoah; a brother, Roy Courtney of Front Royal; seven grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Dale Courtney; a daughter, Wanda Henderson; three brothers, Ray, Edward and Forrest Courtney; and two sisters, Agnes Rinaca and Helen Louderback.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 28 at the Bradley Funeral Home, 187 E. Main St. in Luray.
