Assault on officer and animal among 30 indictments issued by grand jury in February

LURAY, Feb. 6 — Members of a grand jury in Page County Circuit Court last week issued a true bill on a total of 30 indictments handed down Feb. 1 on charges placed among 22 individuals. An additional nine charges were placed against six other individuals who were scheduled to appear before the grand jury during its February session — however, no decision or ruling was listed in the case files. Those individuals are listed below. Those who were indicted by the Feb. 1 grand jury include:

Geneva Grace Stephens, of Edinburg, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for assault on a law enforcement officer (or documented person), a Class 5 felony for maiming or killing an animal (law enforcement), and a Class 1 misdemeanor for driving while intoxicated (DWI) – second offense. All three offenses occurred on Oct. 10, 2022, according to court records with an arrest date of Oct. 10, 2022 on the DWI and Oct. 11, 2022 on the assaults. Stephens is scheduled to appear at 9 .a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 for a hearing.

Vincent Scott Jenkins Jr., of Luray, Va. was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for petit larceny of less than $1,000 (not from person). The drug possession offense and the arrest date for both charges was Oct. 30, 2022, according to court documents, while the larceny offense occurred on Sept. 2, 2022. Jenkins is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 for a hearing.

Jamie Fernandes Eppard, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug, a Class 6 felony for felony possession of a weapon (ammunition, not gun), and a Class 4 misdemeanor for trespassing on a railroad track. All three offenses and an arrest occurred on May 18, 2022, according to court records. Eppard is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 for further proceedings.

Geneva Misty-Dawn Sedmock, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and an unclassified felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug with intent to manufacture. Both offenses occurred on Aug. 30, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Oct. 25, 2022. Sedmock is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 for a hearing.

Zachary Aaron Sours, of Luray, was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession of a Schedule I/II with intent to manufacture and a Class 1 misdemeanor for not maintaining or dispensing of records. Both offenses and an arrest took place on May 25, 2022, according to court records. Sours is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 for a hearing.

Ricky Lynn Good, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offenses occurred on Nov. 4, 2022 and Sept. 6, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date for both of Nov. 4, 2022. Good is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 for a status hearing.

• Stacy Lynette Cubbage, of Stanley, Va. was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on June 24, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Sept. 27, 2022. Cubbage is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 for a hearing.

• Matthew Aaron Dillon, of Mt. Jackson, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on July 21, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of July 22, 2022. Dillon is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 for a hearing.

• Cassandra Dee Dove, of Timberville, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on May 4, 2022, according to court records. Dove is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 for a hearing.

• Crystal Susan Fotlz, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on March 22, 2022, according to court records. Foltz is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 for a hearing.

• Peter Timothy Gionis, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 8, 2022, according to court records. Gionis is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023 for a hearing. A four-hour jury trial is scheduled for Monday, July 10, 2023.

• Cody Allen Grim, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Aug. 24, 2022, according to court records. Grim is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 for a hearing.

• Lee Ronald Hensley, of Abingdon, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for violation of a protective order with violence (third offense in 20 years). The offense occurred on Nov. 17, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Dec. 1, 2022. Hensley is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023 for a hearing.

• Joshua Scott Jenkins, of Elkton, was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on April 2, 2022, according to court records. Jenkins is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023 for a hearing.

• David Wayne Lam, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Nov. 9, 2022, according to court records. Lam is scheduled to appear in court again at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023 for a status hearing.

• Toni Lynn Lambert, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Oct. 9, 2022, according to court records. Lambert is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 for a hearing.

• David E. Morris, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Aug. 8, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Oct. 7, 2022. Morris is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 for a hearing.

• Dylan James O’Dell, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 19, 2022, according to court records. O’Dell is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023 for a hearing.

• Jerry Elwood Petefish III, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on July 24, 2022, according to court records. Petefish is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 for a hearing.

• James Martin Rosser, of Scottsville, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 12, 2022, according to court records. Rosser is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023 for a hearing.

• Kirby Scott Wine, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Aug. 14, 2022, according to court records. Wine is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 for a hearing.

• Rebecca Anne Curtis, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Sept. 20, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Sept. 30, 2022. Curtis is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 for a hearing.

The following cases were scheduled for the Feb. 1 grand jury, but had no decision or result listed in online case files, nor did they have any upcoming court dates listed:

Cody Ryan Buracker, of Shenandoah, was charged with a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 5, 2022, according to court records.

Charles Anthony Combs, of Luray, was charged with a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 4, 2022, according to court records.

Dennis Wayne High III, of Luray, was charged with two Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug and an unclassified felony for the distribution of methamphetamines greater than or equal to 10 grams. The two possession charges and an arrest on all three charges occurred on Feb. 11, 2022, according to court records, while the distribution charge occurred on Dec. 13, 2021.

Robert Edward Lester Jr., of Quicksburg, was charged with two Class 5 felonies for perjury by falsely swearing an oath. The offense occurred on Oct. 16, 2022, according to court records, with no arrest date listed.

Edward Ray Morrison, of Shenandoah, was charged with a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 1, 2022, according to court records.

Jessie Ray Moulder, of Broadway, was charged with a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on July 1, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Nov. 1, 2022.
