August 10, 1983 — The Luray Town Council voted Monday to draft a formal lease agreement to offer the Page County School Board for Veterans Memorial Ballpark.
The council asked town attorney John R. Bushey Jr. to draft a lease which, if approved by the school board, will be the first written agreement for the field’s use since the town bought the facility five years ago. Council members said they want a lease signed by the school board before Luray High School begins using the park. Town officials say they want to settle questions of insurance liability and maintenance at the stadium.
