Betty Marie Welch, 67, of Winchester, Virginia died Monday, April 28, 2025 in Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia.
Betty was born February 8, 1958 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Lewis Adam Funk and Ruth Maxine Braham Gabbert.
She worked as a nurse.
She married Dennis Welch on September 1, 1977. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2022.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Welch of Luray, VA; two brothers, George Funk of GA and John Funk of NY; two sisters, Nancy Swanson (David) of TN and Wanda Johnson (Todd) of PA; grandchildren, Allison Mahoney of Woodstock VA, Brandon Mahoney of Strasburg VA,; great grandson, Silas Ray Mahoney; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Betty also loved her feathered and fur babies, Sugar Bear, Athena, Zoey and her loving parrot, Victoria
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Velma Mae Funk; and a brother, Gary Funk.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Stephens City, Virginia with Pastor Adam Cubbage officiating. Entombment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.
