Chris Judd Pugh (Sir Blackwolf) of Elkton, Virginia passed away at home with his wife by his side on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the age of 65.
Chris was the youngest child of Cecil Boyd Pugh, Jr. and Margaret Louise Judd Pugh.
Chris graduated Elkton High School in 1979. After graduation he was a member of the Elkton Volunteer Fire Department. In October 1984 Chris joined the Air Force and served as Fire Protection Specialist until 1990, being awarded the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and Air Force Training Ribbon.
Chris served as Lieutenant with the Staunton Fire Department, retiring in 2013 with 25 years of service.
With his wife Mia, he created Medieval Fantasies Company in 2004. Traveling extensively as Sir Blackwolf, he taught the Code of Chivalry through his way of life. He shared his love of history and his Welsh heritage with his portrayal of The Welsh Archer. Education and entertainment were his true passions.
On June 22, 2005, Chris married Mia Dawn Buse’ in his mother’s hometown of Shenandoah, Virginia.
Chris was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife, Mia Dawn Buse’ Pugh; daughter, Celina Dawn Pugh of Churchville; brother, Ronald B. Pugh and wife, Marilyn (Micki) of Wicomico Church; sister, Joy Pugh Monopoli and husband, Joseph of Richmond; niece, Jamie Zimmerman and husband, Austin of Crozet; nephew, Joseph Monopoli, Jr. and wife, Jodi of Lyman, SC; niece, Amanda Wood and husband, Dan of Stafford; aunt and uncle Shirley and Paul Judd of Shenandoah; uncle, Irvin Judd, Jr. of Waynesboro and other extended family members.
A Memorial Service will be held at Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum, Coalter Street Staunton VA on April 30, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum, Coalter Street, Staunton VA.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
