April 29, 1961 — The new Mennonite Church in Lucas Hollow, five miles south of Stanley, will be dedicated in appropriate services Sunday, April 30, beginning at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Bishop J. Ward Shank of Broadway will deliver the dedicatory address, assisted by Bishop Linden Wenger of Harrisonburg and a large crowd of officials from Eastern Mennonite College is expected to be on hand. An evening service, beginning at 7:30, is also scheduled for Sunday with the Rev. Mahlon Horst, pastor of the church, as speaker.
