Dennis George Kohanek, 86, of Luray, died on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minn., and was a son of the late Leslie Frank Kohanek and Kathryn Brinster Kohanek.
Mr. Kohanek was a veteran of the United States Army and worked with his son at Komtel, retiring in 2019. He was a member and former chairperson for the Page County Democratic Party.
On Oct. 27, 1956, he married Joyce Marlene Rocheleau Kohanek, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Lisa Pecunia of Richmond, and Vicki Kohanek of Toms River, N.J.; a son, Stephen Kohanek of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; a brother, James Kohanek of Bethesda, Md.; two sisters, Diane Kohanek and Mary Ann Steen both from Circle Pines, Minn.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Kohanek Jr.
Services are planned for a later date.
