Dolores Helen Winiarz Twiddy, 86, of Shenandoah, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the home of her son.
Ms. Twiddy was born on June 21, 1937 in New York. She worked for many years as a home health care nurse. Dolores loved spending time at Cape Hatteras. She was an avid collector.
Dolores is survived by her children, Christina Neil and husband Marshall of Waynesboro, Timothy Twiddy of Norfolk, Joyce Kearns and husband John of Woodbridge, Ralph Twiddy, III and wife Lani of Virginia Beach, Candace Phelps of Saluda, Keith Twiddy of Shenandoah, Daniel Twiddy and wife Jeannie of Shenandoah, Joseph Twiddy and wife Wendy of Saluda, Kathryn Kirby and husband Nathaniel of Jonesboro, TN; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes, her body was donated to science.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial contributions be made to the Page County Animal Shelter, 1261 Goodrich Road, Stanley, VA 22851.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, Va.
