April 13, 1961 — Larry Dovel, former Luray High School baseball pitcher, who is now in the organization of the Cincinnati Redlegs, hurled four innings for Indianapolis of the American Association against the Cincinnati “B” team last week.
The game was won by the Cincinnati “B” team, 7 to 2.
Although Dovel was the losing pitcher, the husky Luray youth did not walk a batter during his four innings of pitching.
He allowed three hits, two earned runs and struck out two batters.
