Age 89, Luray, Va.
On May 25, 2023, Edna “Sis” Rae Good Drain, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully and entered the pearly gates of Heaven at the age of 89.
She was a member of the Stanley Baptist Church and also attended both Hawksbill Baptist Church and the Luray Church of Christ.
She was born on February 20, 1934, to the late Robert and Thelma Good of Luray.
On July 29, 1950, she married Denver Curtis Drain, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Dena Thorpe (Johnie), Wayne Drain (Kathy), Roger Scott (Gloria), Shirley Weakley (Chuck), Carolyn Horchner (Jeff), and Robert “Bobby” Drain (Regina); a sister, Gladys Heller (Peter); 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at the Bradley Funeral Home, with the funeral to follow. The service will be conducted by Pastor Tom Robinson. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Luray.
The family has planned a celebration meal following the service at the Stanley Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to a church of your choice.
